Skydive Perris: The Fun, Friendly Dropzone That Cares

If you’ve been immersed in the skydiving community for any time at all, chances are you’ve heard of or visited Skydive Perris in Southern California.

Why is this a fair assumption? Because Skydive Perris is the ultimate, dream-come-true skydiving dropzone. It checks all boxes for all populations within the sport – first-time tandem students, those learning how to skydive, fun jumpers, professional athletes, competitors in training, and even movie makers. And because of their extensive amenities, no category is forced to endure painfully-long wait times.

What’s more, the Skydive Perris team never strays from the highest of safety standards and treats every guest with excellent customer service. This dropzone is a veritable oasis! Let’s get into the particulars …

It’s A Skydiving Resort!

Immediately obvious is that Skydive Perris has it all … and then some. There are few dropzones of this caliber on the planet. They call themselves a skydiving resort for good reason; the year-round dropzone offers sick amenities:

Swimming Pool

Yep! Skydive Perris has an in-ground swimming pool and lounge deck that’s open to skydivers and their non-jumping support crew. Pack your swimmies and your sunnies and soak up some of that gorgeous California sunshine.

Full-Service Restaurant

Skydive Perris is home to The Bombshelter, a full-service bar and restaurant that has an extensive, family-friendly menu and a whole lot of eye candy.

Flags representing the Perris sky fam and floor to ceiling photos and memorabilia envelop you in skydiving history. You can feel it. The vibe is electric as skydivers swap stories, celebrate milestones, let their hair down, and honor their elders. The greats have all been here, and the greats of tomorrow are sitting right across the table.

Lodging

Experienced skydivers who want to stay and play can book beds at The International House of Parachutists, a bunkhouse that can accommodate groups of up to 24 peeps. Conveniently located in proximity to Los Angeles and San Diego, there are plenty of hotel options close by too.

It’s A Skydiver’s Paradise

With the benefit of quality food and shelter on your side, you can indulge in their stellar skydiving and next-level training amenities to your heart’s content.

Aircraft Fleet

Skydive Perris has the largest fleet of aircraft in the country and each is the envy of every other operation in the industry! All are of twin turbine engine design, have been specifically upfitted for skydiving, and are babied by their on-staff maintenance team.

5 Skyvans

Designed for skydiving, these boxy beauties chuck up to 22 skydivers right out the back!

3 Twin Otters

Twin Otters are spacious and quick, taking 22 skydivers to altitude in just 15 minutes.

1 Douglas DC9 Jet

This highly-coveted 80-seater is currently offline for refitting… but it’s coming back!

Indoor Wind Tunnel

Few DZs on the globe have an on-site wind tunnel, and Skydive Perris has one of the best. In fact, Perris is the only DZ in California or on the West Coast with one!

Indoor skydiving offers numerous benefits to skydivers of all levels, and all ages. Skydive Perris admits flyers as young as three years old into the tunnel and, like outdoor skydiving, there’s no upper age limit. The whole family can hang! And, unlike outdoor skydiving, though, you can freefall in the tunnel whatever the weather.

This open-to-all facility is also frequented by the pros, providing the ultimate training environment for individuals and teams wanting to refine their skills.

On-Site Services

Skydive Perris is no joke when it comes to on-site services. Their core staff includes a team of Senior and Master Riggers who stand ready to pack all day or per jump. They also have a gear store and rigging loft. You literally don’t have to leave the premises for a single thing.

The People Are Amazing

There are big names associated with Skydive Perris. Most prominent to American skydivers, and well known to those across the map, is Dan Brodsky-Chenfeld. Affectionately known by all as Dan BC, he is a six-time world champion skydiver, award-winning coach, staunch advocate for safety in the sport, an inductee of the Skydiving Museum and Hall of Fame, author, motivational speaker – oh, and also Dropzone Manager at Skydive Perris. In addition to leading a team of nearly 40 instructors who have more than 215K collective skydives and nearly 500 cumulative years in the sport, Dan BC serves in a leadership role with Perris Performance Plus (P3), one of the world’s most prestigious skydiving institutions in terms of FS Big Way Skydiving.

The dropzone itself is reason enough to understand why people of Dan BC’s stature would call Perris home – including Kate Cooper-Jensen, Mark Brown, Roberta Mancino, Angie Aragon, Dan Dupuis, Josh Colby, Grace Katz, Rob Wallace, Christy Frikken, Marty Jones, Matt Blank, James Perez, Craig O’Brien, and a slew of Hollywood celebrities and production companies  – but it’s deeper than that. Underlying everything at Skydive Perris is their bigger-than-us mission:

“ … to relentlessly pursue the enrichment of the human experience, to influence and change lives, and to welcome everyone into our world, our lifestyle and our family which, they may not know existed, and their spirit may not know it NEEDS.”

Considering the DZ’s original motto in the 70s was “The Fun, Friendly Dropzone That Cares”, Skydive Perris has had their priorities straight from the get go.

Perris is the skydiver’s dropzone. If you haven’t been, get there – and keep your eyes peeled for the champs, there are living legends everywhere!
